Our Story

Tchoupitoulas Street Snoballs began as a vision to bring a little taste of New Orleans to middle Tennessee when our family moved here six years ago. In New Orleans, snoballs are a beloved tradition dating back to the mid-1930s. Snoballs are a deliciously unique, summer treat made with preservative free syrups.

Before continuing, let's get one thing straight, New Orleans snoballs and sno-cones are not the same frozen dessert.

  • Sno-cones are made of chunky coarse style of crushed

ice with syrup poured on top. While, New Orleans Snoballs

are expertly shaved ice that comes out light and fluffy,

just like a snow in the winter.

  • The sugary syrups of our snoballs are mixed on the premises

from extracts, and made with pure sugar cane sugar and

filtered water, unlike your typical sno-cones.

You can see why snoballs are the tastiest treats around. Our name

Tchoupitoulas Street Snoballs originates from the first snoball stand

opening there in the 1930s. When we decided to bring this

one-of-a-kind treat to Franklin, Tennessee we knew we wanted

to bring the history that comes along with it and knew the name

would be a perfect fit.

Our small family-run business can be found in the heart of downtown Franklin. We also travel to bring delicious snoballs to events, festivals, and even straight to your private parties! You can recognize us in a street car style trailer, similar to the buses that cruise through downtown Franklin. We serve New Orleans style shaved ice that we cover in one of our signature flavored syrups.
